Savva Locci is a London-based photographer working between observation and inner experience. Through walking, waiting and close attention, familiar urban fragments are held at the point where they begin to feel uncertain. The practice took shape in Hong Kong and continues in London.
Photography began as a way of noticing what usually escapes attention. On a rainy day in Hong Kong, a close photograph of an ordinary fly made an overlooked subject appear strange and charged. That small encounter became a way into the work.
Savva works intuitively, walking through streets and transitional spaces and waiting for minor disturbances: a reflection breaking across glass, a figure passing through shadow, a damaged surface, an unexpected relation between things. Editing happens more slowly. Images remain when they resist immediate explanation and retain atmosphere or psychological weight.
Hong Kong brought compression, velocity and immediacy to the work. London has introduced greater distance, silence and space. Across both places, the photographs return to memory, transience and unstable perception. They do not settle what a scene means; they leave room for the viewer’s own associations.
